Mad Friday - OOTN

*What I'm Wearing*

Dress - Babyphat
Shoes - Primark
Fur Coat - Vintage
Earrings - Topshop

Possibly the worst night to go out EVER.. we met some characters I can tell you!
I'll blog about the evening itself later (expect lots more photos) but it's Christmas Eve and I have things to do! I will to leave you with this last image though.. My friend Kat (StyleSoCoy) was out with us and the obligatory photo shoot ensued.. I played around in editing and this is my favourite!

Why can't I look like that?

Gloss & Glitter

\

I've really rediscovered my love for red lips this Christmas so it seemed only right that I wear them in my Holiday tutorial this year. For my eyes I used a similar technique as I do everyday.. I define just above my crease in an attempt to widen my eyes, classic winged liner and a slick of festive glitter...

What I used for this look...

MAC Paint Pots in Morning Frost and Chilled On Ice
Urban Decay Shadows in Last Call and Smog
2True Easyglide Khol Eyeliner in Black
Rimmel Exhaggerate Liquid Liner in Black
MUA Glitter Eyleliner in 4 (gold)
Loreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara
Daniel Sandler Baby Jet Mascara
MAC Sheertone Blush in Plum Foolery
Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil in Gash
17 Ultimate Volume Lipgloss in Very Berry

To see how I did it watch the video tutorial below...

NOTD - Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle

First off.. loving this! I know not everyone was overly enamoured of their December Glossybox but no matter what i got I think this would have won me over. I love me some glitter at Christmas time and having purchased from this brand before I was aware it's NOT CHEAP! I love the special glitter shades from Deborah Lippmann but I've only tried one polish from the brand previously and it chipped so quickly it really put me off trying any others. I have to say though..  after trying this one I'm already chomping at the bit to add to my collection. I've had it on my nails for a couple of days and it's showing very little sign of wear. I already knew that it would look fabulous but if it chips an hour after I've applied it I'm not interested. Glossybox absolutely got it right for me this month. They've made a customer of me where I'd written DL off as a bad job. This is going to be an expensive habit!

The polish is luxuriously dark and festive cranberry shade with an overload of raspberry glitter. I can't think of anything more fitting for the Holidays.

A full sized polish is 15ml and a mini is approx 9ml (I had to do some fl oz - ml calculations as I couldn't find a volume online on any UK site) I think that's a really nice size. For something like this that you wouldn't wear every day the mini size is ideal! FYI The polish on the right is 'Waking Up In Vegas' and the yellow colour shakes out.. it settles like that when it's left to sit.

Have you tried anything from Deborah Lippmann?

Come Shop With Me..

I'm sure most of you will agree that jeans are absolutely the hardest thing to shop for.
I tried on a few pairs and have had to accept that super skinnies really don't flatter my shape. Unfortunately there's not a lot else out there on the high street as they're so popular. Luckily I did find a nice pair of boot cuts (top right) that *just* fit me in Dorothy Perkins... I wanted them a little tight as my tummy is still swollen and I don't want them to be huge on me in a month.
I was shopping for anything everything but I knew I wanted a good pair of jeans, some basic tops and a wear-with-all cardigan. I got a coupe of scoop necked tops (wearing in the pictures) but the knitwear eluded me. Either it was too scratchy, didn't look like it would hold up in the wash or was just plain awful. I'm probably the most picky about cardigans. When I find one I like I need to buy it because it could be years before I find another. I've seen a couple I like online but I'm never sure of the material.. may just have to chance it.
So.. when I couldn't find more than a couple of things I liked Lee took me to look at watches. He said he'd initially wanted to get me a Michael Kors watch as he knew how much I'd wanted one but they just seem so expensive.. I'm not sure. These are the two we were considering...

The one on the left I think is my favourite as it's a bit more classic and I can wear it everyday, the one on the right was in the sale which is a nice bonus but it's a bit flashy. The strap is clear perspex so it doesn't feel as robust and it's still not cheap for something that doesn't feel very substantial. I would like a watch that's swim proof so I never have to take it off.. reason being I NEVER remember to put a watch on! I'm looking at alternatives but what do you guys think? Any suggestions of must-haves you think I should check out are also welcome!

What's on YOUR list?

Christmas Shopping... For ME?

Every year Lee struggles with presents for me... he never knows what to buy and yet every year he buys things I love. This year he's really pushing the issue and would really like me to pick some things for myself (as well as the obligatory "surprises"). I'm torn. I like the idea of a shopping spree don't get me wrong but I'm an old fashioned girl when it comes to presents, I hate to buy people things they've asked for and I hate to be bought things I've said I want. It's stupid really because there are some items I just won't buy for myself and Christmas is the perfect time to get them but.. I don't know. I think it's about trying to retain some of the magic of Christmas from when you were a kid.. the Santa magic.

As a compromise I thought I'd spend half my budget on some new clothes. After being in maternity wear for the majority of 2011 it will be nice to shop for something in the regular section and I could do with some larger sized "transitional" clothes to wear while I'm waiting to squeeze back in my pre-baby wardrobe.

I went shopping on the hunt for jeans last weekend and while I realised I'm not quite jeans ready yet I discovered the gem that is Dorothy Perkins. I hadn't ventured in in the longest time but the 30% off signs in the window enticed me through the doors. I found some fab jeans I will fit in to soon at BARGAIN prices and spied some other goodies too so when we agreed I would do some of my own Christmas shopping it was my first port of call. I was excited to see the 30% off is still running so we will take another trip tomorrow. Here's what I have my eye on so far...

Of course you have to widen the net a little if you're really going to get the best cross section of what's available right now so in the interest of market research I took a look at Topshop online too...

Sequin Crop Cami £30
Leigh Supersoft Skinnies £38
Pink Textured Jumper £36
Suede Beaded Feather Earrings £10

And River Island...

Navy Belted Maxi Skirt £12
Pink Bandage Pencil Skirt £10
Grey Ponti Pencil Skirt £10
Polka Dot Body Con Dress £35
Purple Wrap Front Dress £30
Indigo Sexy  Super Skinny Jeans £39.99
Coral Skinny Jeans £40
Leopard Print Tshirt £15
Leopard Print Belt £15
Black Heart Necklace £10

I have to say the jeans at Dorothy Perkins are so reasonably priced I can't see myself forking out for the Topshop/River Island options but they're lovely all the same. I think I'll get some basics from there and pick up a couple of nicer items from RI/Topshop. I LOVE the pink jumper and the leopard top. I will no doubt take my camera shopping. I'm trying to Vlog every day n December (started a couple of days late but I'm on a roll now) so go and subscribe to my daily vlog channel if you want to come shopping with me!!!

See You Tomorrow

Mommy's First Night Out

*What I'm Wearing*
Top, Skirt, Tights, Shoes : Primark
*The top was just £2.90 in the sale recently and the shoes were a bargain our £12*
Necklace and Bag : Forever21
Ring : Pandora
*My engagement ring is "in the shop" as the diamond came loose (eek)*
Nail Polish : MUA Shade 8

Can we just take a moment to talk about tights?
I haven't worn tights in YEARS and I had no idea the wondrous powers they possessed. I currently have cellulite all the way to my knees (ahh the joys of motherhood) but I couldn't spot ANY through my magic tights...AND I TRIED!!! I may never take them off!

Milo stayed home with Grandma being his cute little self...

Dinner was delicious! King Prawn Linguine topped with half a lobster? Yes Please! For anyone in the area, Central Park in Doncaster is still great under new management ..I'd heard some bad reviews but it's absolutely worth a visit if you happen to find yourself around these parts.

Oh and of course there were cocktails...

Winter Wardrobe - #1 ASOS

As I'm gearing up to shop for my slimmer shape again I thought I'd put together some wardrobe wish lists from the various online stores I frequently browse and share with you my favourite picks. You know I love my basics and Winter-time is great for my neutral tones and chunky knits but I am going to try and add some colour here and there. First up is ASOS.

I love ASOS for the variety of brands but their own stuff is more (my) budget friendly and just as good as some of the pricier pieces. Do you not LOVE that bag? The red dress is gorgeous for Christmas parties but it might be a touch short for me.. tights could help?
Skinny jeans and slouchy tops will be my staples while I lose my baby weight for sure.

Deck The Halls

I can't wait to decorate for Christmas. Last year we had a purple theme because I painted the accent walls either side of our chimney breast in our living room. This year I really want to go back to the traditional Red and Gold for Milo's first Christmas. That means I need to repaint the accent walls *sigh*. I do have a lot of red/gold decorations already from previous years but I will need to buy some more... obviously! My house will be like walking into a festive movie set.. I will be home to do it up and most importantly.. to appreciate the effort! In preparation here are the most inspirational pictures I've found..

How will you be decorating this year?

Bargains from The Body Shop

Anyone who's expecting Christmas Presents from me.. don't read this :P
I just popped online to thebodyshop.co.uk only to discover the awesome pre-Christmas offers they have on.. just in time to get some early Christmas shopping in, I thought! As with all deals and discounts there's always a way to get a better deal if you're smart.. I thought I'd share me sneakiness with you here.

I just purchased the following...

Which adds up to a nice round £40, right? Well... Already I qualify for free delivery because I've spent over £30.. BUT because I've spent over £26 I can also nab

It gets better...
The current deal is if you spend £15 you get £5 off.. if you spend £25 you get £10 off... but if you spent £40 (like I did) you get £20 off!!!
Which means that when I'd put all of my shopping in my basket totalling £41 and then entered the deal code "SAVINGS" it put my total to £21, still gave me free delivery and still let me have the £1 Body Butter... even though I shouldn't have been entitled to either!
All in all including delivery I have saved £34.99!!!

I've bagged 3 gifts and a little treat for myself for just over £20..
Now that's what I call a productive morning!
