Loving the lippie... really different to what I have already!

What bargains have you guys nabbed on  blogsales recently?

PS

Sunday Girl Blues

So I've been on a bit of a Tutorial mission of late and here's my latest offering..
I wanted to film but was going out to Mum and Dads for lunch so didn't want anything too "out there" .. here's what I came up with! Admittedly the pics don't look like much but I hope at least in the video you can see a little more dimension. Excuse my eyebrows I'm holding our for a threading next week :p

I used Urban Decay Shattered all over the lid, MAC Plumage in the crease and ELF Sage to blend..
The eyeliner is a bright blue from 2true

for more info check out the video tutorial

and just for good measure... some shots with and without the lippie ;)

MAC Haul

I'll admit when I rocked up at York Designer Outlet today I had pretty high hopes! I'd heard fabulous things about this Cosmetic Company Store and just couldn't wait to see it for myself... I'm very happy to tell you I was not disappointed! It was a-mazing and these were my purchases!

Made to Order (Lustre)

Revealing & Flurry Of Fun (To The Beach) Lip Glass's

Flurry of Fun
Revealing
 MSF in Comfort
This is really quite beautiful on the skin! It gives a glowy golden bronzed look.. not something I normally go for but I love it I really do! It's almost a festive bronzer with the golden sparkle to it. Definitely a keeper!
On the Face

A better indication on colour on skin

Brushes - 225 & 165
I've wanted 165 for what seems like forever! It's the one brush that always stood out to me as a must have, mainly because I don't have anything like it and haven't seen anything like it in other cheaper collections readily available in the UK. I didn't want to fork out for MAC brushes only to be duplicating ones I already had or knew I could get for a better price elsewhere, I love love love my Sigma blending brush so as I was picking up the 165 I thought I'd have the 225 too as it's a slightly larger a fluffier version of the sigma I love so much but I'd like to have one reserved just for undereye powdering - that sounds a little excessive now I write it lol.

So that was my little MAC haul... I'd say today was a good day :)
I'd like to point out that these were in lieu of a returned Christmas present for all of you that want to slate me for being "budget" and spulrging on higher end cosmetics!!! I will definitely be returning so you will see more of the same from me in future.. I'm sorry!
But for those who enjoy anything I haul or are also MAC fans this will be good news! The more higher end stuff I try the better equipped I am to really say whether the more affordable ranges are really worth your money. I am really looking forward to testing out rhw 225 to see if it's any better than my Sigma equivalent!I will of course keep you posted :)

NYE Sparkle

I haven't done a tutorial on youtube in what feels like forever! I wanted to get one done for Christmas but as I missed that I thought I'd better get on with it if I was gonna make it before NYE!
When I think of New Year I think of family, we always have a party with friends and neighbours and usually run with some kind of theme so I don't get to do the NYE party dress and sparkly makeup deal (this years theme is "bad taste" ugh) but if I was to go out on the town this New Year I would definitely hit the sparkly trend HARD!
I went for something that's still pretty subtle and wearable from a distance but upclose it's an explosion of glitter on your eyelids!
I used my new MSF in Comfort and elf HD finishing powder ( I LOVE) to give me a glowy, bronzed base.
I am really liking the Urban Decay Stardust shadows, they are packed with sparkly glitter and as it's so fine the fall out isn't as terrible because it's just a dusting of shimmer on your cheeks as opposed to full on chunks of glittery mess!I used 2true eyeliner in silver and UD 24/7 liner in Oil Slick. On my lips was a MAC gloss in Flurry of fun from the "to the beach" collection.
As my main eyeshadow base I used this TopShop palette which I must say I'm not impressed with!
It didn't blend well and the colours had little impact. They weren't heavily pigmented.. I guess I've just spoiled myself with the ultra blendable UD shadows I wear everyday but I don't know if I'll be using this again... Good job oit was on sale! You could use any light/silver and grey/black  colours to achieve the same look - with the quality of these I would say you'd probably get a better effect!
So that's my New Years Eve look!
You can watch the tutorial video here..

MAC - Impassioned

So my second back2mac purchase was a lipstick that many people have recommended to me.. It seems a bit of a cult favourite! "impassioned"

I gotta say I love it! It's very much along the same lines as vegas volt for brightness and luminousity.. A real hot pink.

I intend to swatch this alongside v/v toxic tale and vegas volt to give you a better idea of colour as I don't think this lighting really does it justice!

Overall it's a very pretty and wearable colour!
I'm still looking for one more mac lipstick ... Any suggestions?

MAC - vegas volt

In keeping with all things vegas related I have been collecting over the past 6 months or so this was perfect! It was my first back2mac "purchase" (I will blig about that seperately) and in all honesty I think I would have bought it for the name alone even if I'd not loved the colour!

As it happens it's pretty fab! A bit brighter than I'm used to.. A bit luminous in fact.. But it's really quite lovely!

Buy it...

Open it...

Swatch it...

Apply it...

Pout it...

So if we ever do get to vegas to get married this may well be the lip colour I wear :)

Have you guys tried this? Love/hate? Let me know

How To DePott Your MAC

Heres what you need..

Your shadow, a hair grip and a candle..

Find the groove in the front of the casing and pop the shadow out in its plastic holder (you could use a knife, a grip or even your thumbnail)

Heat the bottom of the plastic pan till it warps/bubbles a little

It should be soft enough to poke the grip through

This pops the metal shadow pan out of the top

You can lift it out easily from there,, click the plastic pan back into the casing and once you have 6 you can trade them in for a free lipstick :)

I got the tip from missprincesspancake (thanks) to depot 15 shadows it took me about 40 mins (first time) so thats not bad going!
I have ordered 2 pro palettes so will blog when I put them all in :)

here's a video how-to!
