Okay so I only started youtubing in April 2010 and I didn't keep up the monthly favourites videos very well but these are those I could find from last year!
I have uploaded part one of my big 2010 faves video right now and the other two will pop up today... I will then go ahead and post a big in depth blog on all the products I mentioned and what I love about them, how much they cost etc to really evaluate which is the best buy for you guys but in the meantime.. lets revisit some of the things I loved this year that maybe didn't make the cut...
I'd like to start this post by wishing you all a very happy New Year! I hope you all had a fabulous 2010 but that 2011 will be even better!!
My year was great. It's had its ups and downs, I'd hoped to be 6 months pregnant by the time I was writing this post but alas that is still a struggle. I have found and lost a job this year before moving to something a little more me working with Urban Decay. Ella started school and is doing absolutely brilliantly and my family are all well. This is only the second new year I am ringing in with Lee which is bizarre as it feels like I've known him a lifetime. He makes me very happy and I know that the coming year will bring our divorces and our subsequent nuptials which of course makes me happier still. I am still optimistic that 2011 will bring me a new baby...hopefully it doesn't make a fool of me. I am settling in at work, I still feel the stress of a new job and the fertility issues but those aside I am content which is unusual for me. 2010 brought me youtube, blogging and into the beauty community which has changed my life. I have "met" so many wonderful, like-minded people through this hobby, I couldn't have dreamed something so simple as picking up a camera and creating a youtube channel could have brought me so much. I can only imagine how many more ridiculous and unnecessary videos I will provide over the next 12 months but hopefully amongst those will be one or two you really enjoy. I love all of my viewers/readers and just six months ago I had none of either and without you I probably wouldn't have continued to talk to myself so thank you.
I hope you have all thought of your resolutions, I will be posting mine shortly...once I've made them :p
I haven't done a tutorial on youtube in what feels like forever! I wanted to get one done for Christmas but as I missed that I thought I'd better get on with it if I was gonna make it before NYE!
When I think of New Year I think of family, we always have a party with friends and neighbours and usually run with some kind of theme so I don't get to do the NYE party dress and sparkly makeup deal (this years theme is "bad taste" ugh) but if I was to go out on the town this New Year I would definitely hit the sparkly trend HARD!
I went for something that's still pretty subtle and wearable from a distance but upclose it's an explosion of glitter on your eyelids!
I used my new MSF in Comfort and elf HD finishing powder ( I LOVE) to give me a glowy, bronzed base.
I am really liking the Urban Decay Stardust shadows, they are packed with sparkly glitter and as it's so fine the fall out isn't as terrible because it's just a dusting of shimmer on your cheeks as opposed to full on chunks of glittery mess!I used 2true eyeliner in silver and UD 24/7 liner in Oil Slick. On my lips was a MAC gloss in Flurry of fun from the "to the beach" collection.
As my main eyeshadow base I used this TopShop palette which I must say I'm not impressed with!
It didn't blend well and the colours had little impact. They weren't heavily pigmented.. I guess I've just spoiled myself with the ultra blendable UD shadows I wear everyday but I don't know if I'll be using this again... Good job oit was on sale! You could use any light/silver and grey/black colours to achieve the same look - with the quality of these I would say you'd probably get a better effect!
