Las Vegas Outfits

*What I'm Wearing*

Skirt worn as top - Gap (10+ yrs ago.. vintage?)
Jeans - Levis Demi Curve
Wedges - Nine West
Necklace - Ebay copy of HOH

Vest - Primark
Cropped Khakis - Warehouse
Wedges - Nine West
Necklace - Primark

Top - F21
Jeans - Primark
Heels - Primark
Necklace - Tiffany

The last photo was our last night and quite possibly my favourite outfit of the trip.. the 3 photos just go to show how different shapes and colours can manipulate the look of one persons body. Between the second and last photo I look like I lost half a stone!! I need to accentuate my legs which are always slim and hide my upper half which is well.. never. You can expect some colour blocking and 'dress for your body type' posts soon as this inspired me to learn more about the clothes I choose.

Happy Snaps

I haven't had time to put together all of our photos for a post yet so I thought I'd share these few that I love. It's so hard to get nice photos together when you're on holiday alone so this was our solution.

My In-flight Essentials

I am typing this blog post from the desk in our Las Vegas hotel room. It's 10.15pm here but it's 5.15am UK time and I'm yet to get so much as a nap. I've been up for almost 24 hours and the shakes are setting in. We haven't done much yet as we're just wiped from the flight and would you believe it's bloody freezing out? We have a busy day planned tomorrow however so I will be retiring to our huge plush bed soon to fall asleep gazing at the absolutely epic view from our penthouse suite!!! More on that later, I haven't taken many photos yet but have of course vlogged my arse off!

I had a few requests on twitter for a 'what's in my carry on' type video but I feel I've kind of overloaded YouTube with Vegas at this point so I'm going to post it here n case you're all sick of my excited face. If you could see my face now... not so excited.. in fact I wouldn't want you to see my face right now! I did show everything I was taking and the bag etc in my Countdown vlog which you can watch here (skip to 11mins in if that's all you want to see) but I will give you a little run down here for those who prefer the old pictures and words approach.

I'll start with what's in my 'makeup bag' carry on. Some of this is just 'cause I decided I wanted it last minute and others are what I'd consider 'in-flight essentials'

Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc
YSL Touch Eclat in Shade 1
Stila eyeliner in sting ray
Urban Decay eyeliner in zero
MAC tinted lip conditioners in petting pink and soothing beige
Lancome mini Hyponose Drama mascara
Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil sample
Steam Cream
Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream & Lipbalm
Moa Green Balm
Benefit Dr Feel Good
Valentino Valentina perfume sample

I actually stayed makeup free during the flight and felt so much better for it. I didn't apply makeup 'til we were checked in and in our room. Right now my skin is thanking me. Flying leaves you so dehydrated, I reapplied my lotions and balms every few hours and felt fresh upon arrival.

So what else did I think I NEEDED with me on the plane..

Notebook
Diary
Purse
Travel Wallet
Laptop
Headphones
Snack
Various Medicines
Hairbrush
Sunglasses
Wet wipes
Phone
DSLR (not pictured)

I didn't use my camera (shocker) or my laptop on the flight and I'd be tempted to pack them on the way home as my carry-on was so heavy but between them they are worth more than this trip cost so I'm nervous to part with them. I used a huge handbag from H&M purchased for this purpose and packed my regular handbag to use while I'm over here.

So... for those of you that wanted to know what I was carrying on.. hope you found this interesting and I apologise for any spelling or grammatical errors.. I'm pretty much running on empty right now and am lucky to still be able to function at this level. I'm about to upload todays vlog so look out for that later today (UK time) and I'm hoping to have my first picture post for you as well. First full day in Vegas tomorrow... best get some sleep. Night xxx

Vegas Wishlist

It feels like forever that we've been planning this trip (probably because it has been) and it's finally just around the corner so forgive me if I get a little vacation happy in my posts over the coming weeks. It's very exciting, not least of all because of the shopping. Above are just a few of the items on my current wish list. Now don't get me wrong.. I can't afford to blow 2 months rent on a spree but I am being careful and when the time comes I should hopefully have enough $$$ for a little splurge.
My absolute must haves will be the Maybelline Color Tattoos and Dream Bouncy Blushes because I'm not sure when they're launching in the UK. The Revlon Lip Butters launch days before we fly out so I may have already picked up a couple in advance. I'd love a new scent from Victoria's Secret and my big splurge with either be a pair of long-lusted-after Tory Birch flats, Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac Handbag or a second MK watch (decadant?) in rose gold. Each of those items are substantially cheaper in the states so I'm hoping to grab a bargainous treat for myself.

Are there any must haves you think I should pick up while I'm across the pond?

Really Relevant Read

I first discovered Lindsey Kelk about this time last year when I was commuting to work on the train and found myself with a lot of spare time to read. I found I heart New York and had to buy it given my obsession for all things NYC, I've since ready I heart Hollywood and I heart Paris and loved them all. If your a fan of Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series you will definitely enjoy this one. Another reason to love this author is that she's a fellow beauty blogger. You can find her blog, Beauty Mecca, here. I was online yesterday browsing for stocking fillers when I saw I heart Vegas, it was like she had read my mind! We're planning a trip to Vegas in March, we were originally going to get married there (read about that here) but it will now be our honeymoon. I was willing her next book to be in Vegas and I just can't quite believe it is..

I've already ordered my copy, it's not due for release until 8th December but you can get yours here
l know this wasn't a beauty related post but I nearly missed this so wouldn't want you to

NOTD - Chapel Of Love

As with most of my OPI polishes I bought this purely for the name. I mean, how cute is that? Given that for a long time we were planning a runaway Vegas wedding you can imagine how this would appeal. I will give OPI this.. the colour is awesome! I have it on my fingers and toes and love love love it... however.. the formula.. not so much. It really grinds my gears that OPI continue to sell at such high prices when the quality just isn't there. Yes their shade range is vast and seemingly unending with the constant stream of limited edition collections but it's just not the best of the best. This took 4 or 5 coats to achieve the opaque "bottle" colour you see here and it was hard work. It's very thin and dries slowly so if you're not careful you will end up with a gloopy mess. The next time I use this I will be sure to set aside a rainy Sunday when I have nothing else to do because it will take hours to to it right. I find myself always annoyed by this with OPI and yet I continue to impulse buy for a great name or a unique shade... how do they do this?
Anyway... enough of my ranting and raving, My pregnancy hormones are leaving me less tolerant these days I'm sure. I am now on the hunt for a dupe for this bubblegum pink that is cheaper and easier to apply. I tried to capture the slight gold shimmer running through it in the picture below.. you can just about make out a sparkle on my nails but it doesn't add anything for me I just really love the colour. I would be very happy to find a solid polish in this shade. Any suggestions?

MAC - vegas volt

In keeping with all things vegas related I have been collecting over the past 6 months or so this was perfect! It was my first back2mac "purchase" (I will blig about that seperately) and in all honesty I think I would have bought it for the name alone even if I'd not loved the colour!

As it happens it's pretty fab! A bit brighter than I'm used to.. A bit luminous in fact.. But it's really quite lovely!

Buy it...

Open it...

Swatch it...

Apply it...

Pout it...

So if we ever do get to vegas to get married this may well be the lip colour I wear :)

Have you guys tried this? Love/hate? Let me know

xoxo

VEGAS BABY!

LAS VEGAS

The tackiest place on earth?....or the most ROMANTIC???
This is open to interpretation.

I am looking forward to a "quickie wedding" in Vegas this October.
It's yet to be booked and I'm still researching the actual getting married part but I'm pretty much sold on the idea. I have been gradually collecting bits and pieces for 6 months or more and really cannot wait.
I have the option of going all out tacky... jeans and tshirt, drive thru wedding extravaganza....
OR
I could go for an intimate, candlelit, flowy dressed affair...
each one PERHAPS equally as romantic in their own way, but which should I choose?

For a while I was siding with the all out tack... I thought if I was gonna do a vegas wedding why not embrace the cheese? You won't be dissappointed and it would be a quirky story to tell your friends..
Then I bought a cute dress and thought... maybe I'll do it a little more traditionally...
NOW .... I just don't know!
For those of you that have been following me for a while on YOUTUBE you will know that both my partner and I are currently getting divorced from our previous spouses which means no solid plans can be made until those are both final. This is annoying to say the least but we're getting on with things and passing the time, hoping that we will be all done in time for october. This is one of the reasons that Vegas seemed the obvious choice.
There's no waiting time between divorce and re-marry in the state of Nevada,
We can "plan" without actually planning ANYTHING,
We don't have to deal with opinions of anyone else who may...have an opinion
So Vegas it is... I think,
But which direction do I take... Tackiest of tacky or the most romance Las Vegas has to offer?
The Little White Chapel or a a beautiful hotel chapel?
As you can see, I need help,
I'm enlisting the help of you, my loyal subscriber/readers,
I've added a poll to the side (which I hope you can see)
Please vote for Romance/Tacky
And if you have any other suggestions/questions/general comments feel free to write those below this post, I love to read your comments and I would love your views on this topic :D
Thanks for Reading

xoxo
