Shhhh!

Keep this one under your hats girls...
For those of you unfortunates (like me) that were unable to get on Sigma's website last Friday to take advantage of the FREE SHIPPING *sob* there's a sneaky little discount code I discovered that may go some way to making you feel better. Until Tuesday This code will get you 10% off everything.

It would appear they feel pretty bad about the site being down for the majority of the day and are offering this as a "thank you for sticking with us" kinda deal. It's not quite as good as free shipping but hey the more you order the more you save, right? I finally bought the Make Me Blush kit (above) I've been lusting after for months so that will make a nice post Christmas present to myself when it arrives.

Hope this cheers up those of you upset you missed the first offer.. it worked for me!

£40 off at Kurt Geiger!

Again the lovely Fee at MakeupSavvy pointed me in the direction of this promotion with her monthly magazine freebies post but me being me I wasn't happy with just £20 off.. I wanted more... so I'm hoping this will be of additional assistance to those of you that have already read Fee's post.
First up Elle Magazine are giving away a pre-loaded £20 gift card in Decembers issue which can be used online or in Kurt Geiger stores (not concessions) on any Kurt Geiger branded footwear. As soon as I heard of this offer I went out and bought three copies... obviously! As of right now I have only used one of the gift cards so I can't tell you for sure that it will allow me to use another at my address but I don't see any mention of that in the T&Cs and worst case scenario I would use it in store. The gift cards are valid for 12 months from activation (must be done online) so you have ages before you have to spend them. I am already planning on going out for more... The magazine costs £3.80 so in reality I'm saving £16.20 but  it's valid against sale items PLUS.. the best deal is yet to come.

So I was looking on MoneySavingExpert.com (you can see the specific thread here) and people were talking about a "welcome" discount you can receive with your first order. Well... it would seem if you are spending more than £50 you are entitled to £20 off when using this welcome code (can be found here).
In short if you're smart you will spend £50, add your welcome promo code (knocking off £20) and THEN go to checkout, add your Elle Gift card code (knocking off £20) leaving you with just £10 + Postage (minimum £4) to pay! I feel this post has been a little maths intensive but in short anyone can save £40 on a pair of beautiful KG shoes as long as your spending a minimum of £50! There were a few pairs I had my eye on by the one pair I HAD to get first (in case the welcome code was only good for one go) were on £45 so I had to buy some hair clips (£8) to bump up the price... never the less I bought the below for just £17 inc. P+P and I am beyond happy with my purchase!
Miss KG "Adorn" shoes in pink. Were £70, down to £45
Can be purchased online here

2 Pack of "Pyramid" Hair Slides - also available in gold and black £8
Can be purchased online here

Even if this is all I manage to get I am really pleased! One thing I would mention for those that will no doubt wonder.. when I paid I checked out as a guest and wasn't made to register so I'm fairly confident that I'll be able to get the Welcome Discount Code again. Worst case I would use Lee's info and have it sent to my parents address or something.. I'll find away around it I'm sure but when I do I will let you know. If it works I will be buying up the rest of these magazines in my area. If they last for a year (from activation) they're an investment in my mind. When don't  you want £20 at Kurt Geiger? Exactly!

So for the second time in as many days, Thank you Fee for your fabulous post! It made my day!

Too Faced Fun in the Dark

I was pretty darn excited when BuyaPowa told me this was the next cosmetic co-buy and even more so when I received one in the post on Tuesday. Over the last few days I've tested it (you can expect some tutorials very soon) and I think I'm in a position to review. First up...

The Packaging

Wow! Reminiscent of the Urban Decay BOS III (NY) palette  but not just eyeshadows. The lights are more like the model mirror so many bloggers have raved about and in this handy compact palette the light up mirror is actually useable rather than just a cute gimmick. It's substantial enough that it feels secure in your bag and yet small enough that it will fit in even your evening clutch for a night out.

Eyes

There are four to choose from in this palette, hopefully they show up well enough for you to make them out from the swatches below. Pin Up and Peep Show are more highlight shades, they would make very sheer lid colours. It's a shame because I really love Peep Show, I'm hoping it will be a bolder colour with a primer underneath. Full Frontal and Lucky Charms are really impressive for pigmentation. Full Frontal is a warm almost aubergine/brown and Lucky Charms is a vibrant green like nothing else I have.. always nice to add something new! Overall I think they're great quality shadows I just wish the paler ones had a touch more pay-off.

Face

First I have to mention Sun Bunny. This is uber-popular as a single product so I was really pleased to get to try it. One side (right) is matte and the other (left) has a sheeny finish. It gives a really beautiful natural golden glow. The Blush, Papa Don't Peach (love the name) is a lovely compliment to Sun Bunny. Again it has a kind of sheen to it, it's not quite shimmer just a dewy effect on the skin.
I really liked both of these and that they go so well together.

Lips

In this set you get a lipstick and a lipgloss. Free Love is a barely there pinky nude shade, it's always difficult to get a good swatch from a lip palette. It seemed quite sheer when I applied it but I'm not sure if it would be quite so sheer from a tube. None the less it was a nice shade once on the lips. The gloss didn't give much colour at all. What looked like a garish bright pink in the palette turned out to be just a bit of sparkle. The two were nice worn together but lip palettes are notoriously difficult to get right. It's a nice addition to the overall package.

Prior to this set I'd only tried the Naked Eye palette before which had really impressed me, I'd been looking forward to trying something new from them and this didn't let me down.

To get 40% off this palette visit BuyaPowa who have this on offer today!!!

YSL Touche Eclate for just £13???

I am so excited to tell you that right now on BuyaPowa you could bag YSL's Touche Eclat for the bargain price of £13!!! I'm even more excited because I asked you all both here and on my YouTube channel what products you would love for BuyaPowa to get at discount and Touche Eclat was something so many of you requested. It just goes to show that the system works when we tell them what we want. There were lots of other things we wanted of course and they want new ideas all the time so if there's one thing on your wish list right now that's just out of your price range PLEASE leave a comment for them to see.. I would love to see them bring on board another must-have that we demanded.
Ok.. on to the product.

I have tried it myself some time ago and like most people, loved it. The only thing that put me off repurchasing was the price. I tried other, cheaper versions from different brands but nothing really seemed to do the same thing so I gave it up as a bad job and moved on.
For those of you that have been making do with less effective alternatives or who just really want to try this cult product now's your chance.

To give you an indication of what else is available in this price range right now..

No7 Instant Radiance Concealer £13.50

Clinique Airbrush Concealer £15.00

But the original Touche Eclat could be yours for just £13!!!
If you're unfamiliar with how BuyaPowa works go to my blog post here where any questions should be answered.. for those already in the know here are the price points, before it even starts the price will be just £17.50 compared to the RRP £24.50...

You can view the deal and join the co-buy here and don't forget to spread the word if you do.. whoever brings in the most people will get theirs for FREE! Now that would be a bargain.
This is a fab deal to get on board for a relatively new company..
If they can do this.. what else could we ask for?

Smokin' Eyes at Smokin' Prices

After the success of the Nails Inc Magnetic nail polish deal I'm really pleased to be telling you about this one. I was as sceptical as the next person and wasn't sure whether the Nails Inc deal would be a one off but its looking like those among us in the market for beauty bargains will grow to love BuyaPowa.. our bank accounts perhaps even more so. The current deal is for Benefit's Smokin' Eyes Makeover Kit. It's a handy handbag sized palette perfect for travelling, touch ups or even to keep in your desk drawer for those impromptu post work drinks. It's all you need to transform your makeup from day to night.

As you can see from the picture below the price drops from £28.50 to £17.50 immediately and providing 75 people buy everyone will pay just £13.00!! Postage is free too!
You can currently buy this palette at House Of Fraser for £31.50 including delivery where it's been given 5 star reviews by customers who've paid full price. If it's a great product at £28.50 then it's a fantastic one at  £13.00, wouldn't you agree?

If you're interested in the offer you can click here to view it live..
By the time you're reading this it could already have reduced in price!

If you have any questions check out my blog post here which hopefully will answer most of them and give you a bit more info about BuyaPowa and how it works.
If you've got a suggestion as to what their next deal should be leave me a comment there.

Nails Inc Magnetic Polish 40% off

I was approached yesterday by the company BuyaPowa. I get a lot of emails from companies regarding sponsored posts as you can imagine and most I disregard as they are irrelevant or I just don't like the look of them. This was completely different. I intend to do a full post about the company at a later stage... possibly even later today but the deal that just went live is too great to miss so I wanted to get something up as quickly as possible. You can view all of the information and how it works on the site itself but to give you an overview it's kind of a cross between Bid-up TV and Groupon. There is one deal at a time and the more people that buy it the cheaper the price gets until it reaches it's "best price". Best price is achieved at 75 buyers and the deal ends once there are 100. You buy at one price and then spread the word (much as we do when there's a great Groupon deal) in the hope you will lower your price. Once the deal timer ends or  100 people have bought you all pay the same price (much like Bid-up TV).
Another great perk is the leader board for referrals. If you refer the most people you get your item for FREE!
Like I said I really want to get in to this in more details and talk about what the company is all about and how it will hopefully work for budget-hunting consumers like you and I but this post is just to make you aware of the general idea and todays offer. I'd like to point out at this stage I have bought this myself with my own money, it was not provided to me and you can see me on the site as the 5th person to buy. You guys know I was already uber-excited about the launch of Nails Inc's Magnetic Nail Polish but I hadn't bitten the bullet and purchased yet and that is because of the price. You can see my original post about the launch and how the polish works etc here.
I've bought the deal at £10 which is a £3 discount already (postage is free) and if 70 more people buy it we will all get it for £7 which is an absolute bargain! The downside is that they only have 1 shade on offer and although I would have probably chosen the silver to get more wear I have more purple polish than anything else so it's safe to say it still appeals. You will also have to wait for the deal to end for the item to be posted to you but as we bargain shoppers know that is a small price to pay for 40% off a recently launched product.
If you've already heard of this site I'd be really interested to know whether you've bought from them before or what deals you'd like to see them offer in the future, that's another great thing about BuyaPowa, they want US to tell THEM what we want so they can get it for us (again... I'll add more detail later)
Anyway I've rambled enough for what was supposed to be a very brief post but I'm really excited about this. If you are interested in the deal you can view it here and if you have any questions leave me a comment or tweet me @msbudgetbeauty for a quicker response.

Friday Night Swag

I love a bit of Friday night, after-work shopping, don't you? The only thing is I see things I don't buy and then the next day is Saturday so I inevitably return to purchase those items I've decided I must have after all.. d'oh! The whole point of late night shopping is to avoid the weekend crowds!!! Anywho. I thought I would share a few offers I noticed. Number one on my list was Boots are giving away a free Glam Eyes liquid eyeliner with any purchase over £5. Now they did me good 'cause I went in for the mint green nailpolish you see here which was £4.49 and there was no way I could find something for 50p to top uo my purchase so I ended up replacing my Stay Matte powder which died recently. Rimmel's Exaggerate liquid liner is my all time fave so I'm really looking forward to trying out the Glam Eyes. Second deal of the evening was Maybelline's new Colossal Cat Eyes mascara was down to £5.99 from £7.99 in Superdrug for it's launch PLUS you get 300 beauty card points with the purchase!! bargain! I know I bought a new mascara last week but with that kind of logic this one was practically free (expect pics and review very soon). Unfortunately as I am a total numpty I forgot to give them my beauty card when I got to the till so I'm more than a little peeved but am hoping they will add my points from my receipt.. I haven't opened it just in case.. I figured I was probably going back today anyway.
Not all of you will be interested in this next one but as I'm getting more and more fat.. okay, pregnant, I am developing the worst cellulite of my life and it's all the way down to my knee!! I know us girls are plagued with the orange peel, dimpled thighs but it's getting beyond a joke. I seem to remember getting a little obsessive about cellulite the first time round so I'm hoping it's just a symptom that will go away but none the less I couldn't resist half price Perfect Slim from Loreal. They do a whole range of "sculpting" type gels and creams and they are all half price in Superdrug right now so if you love them or have ever wanted to try them now is the time to go pick one up! I did also buy a new MUA eyeliner I've never tried before as well as a Models Own nail art doodah that I've wanted forever but they weren't as exciting as my final buy.. Coconut Oil. I forget the exact price but it was under £2 for sure. It can be used on the skin as a moisturiser, it can be used as a leave in conditioner on your hair and it can be used as an intensive mask for those with dry or damaged tresses like mine. Result! I slathered (lying - Lee slathered) it all over myself last night and this morning I am feeling pretty darn moisturised. It's a bizarre formula that is hard in the tub and melts on contact with your skin to a kind of oil. I will post about it in more detail but I urge you all to go out and get a tub.. I will be trying it out on my hair this morning too.. can't wait!

I also feel it necessary to mention this awesome jumper I got from Primark for the fabulous price of £10
I am totally in love and very excited that these plain, chunky knits are back in fashion. They are so my style and what I like is so rarely "in" so I will be embracing this trend to replenish my wardrobe for years to come. One of the items I'm going back for today is a Zara cardigan that I just can't stop thinking about. I dearly wish brands would give up putting weird elbow patches on stuff but the ones in Zara are the least vile so I think I must have it.

Do any of you indulge in a weekly spree? what awesome finds did you pick up this week?

Stretched and Smocked

*what I'm wearing*
Leggings from Forever21
Smock top from Next sale (bargainous £6)
Leather Jacket from Oasis
Boots from Faith

I'm un-accessorised today.. The pattern was so busy and nothing seemed to go without massively clashing..
I'm not super keen on the neckline of this smock.. I think I may have to customise it a little.
 softened my eyebrows today
They've started to look a bit
harsh when I do them darker.
Eyeshadow was deep red/brown

January brings the SALES...

To give you an indication of the crowds I faced this boxing day.. Here are the poor men and children abandoned outside the Next sale...

I avoided the crazed masses and shopped early on my break.. Here's a peek at what I picked up...
I loved this bracelet from warehouse.. And I'm not normally a jewellery person.. It was just too nice to pass up!

I picked up a little something for Lee from Origins.. A shaving time treat for his winter weathered face! He's tried it and loves it already.. 5*s for Origins!

Next up.. My first topshop makeup purchases!

I bought an eyeshadow palette for half price (practically free) there's no shade name/number so I can't tell you what it is but the swatches are below..

And one without flash...

I liked this little pullout that came with it too :)

I also got this lipgloss, this DID have a name, "tropic" very coral/orange... I'm not mega keen on the formula.. Not so thick and only about as glossy as a balm! Wouldn't be a great longlasting product!

The above swatch is the best for a true idea of the colour..

One with flash to show off all that glitter..

Lastly I couldn't resist my first ever Givenchy buy.. This gloss was nearly half price PLUS I get 20% staff discount so how could I say no?

The colour is 22 "Magenta Impression" and it smells blissfully fruity and goes on like a dream!

It's a really warm but hot pink..

The true colour is somewhere between this picture..

And this one..

So they were my first sale purchases of the season!
What have you guys been treating yourselves to over the past few days?

xoxo
