Naked Shimmer from Fashionista

I was excited to try out the Fashionista palette I put together so when I went out for my friends birthday last night I used it and this is what I came up with.. pretty samey for me but I thought I'd share my first "look" from the range. I used Nude Glimmer on the inner corner blended out to Berry Brown in the outer corner and crease and Black Out to define my lash line. First impressions on applying them.. the pigments pretty standard for drugstore shadows. They are very similar to the MUA Heaven and Earth palette so if you have that already I'd recommend you branch out into colour from the Fashionista line. I don't feel like I've added anything new to my collection here but they are nice to work with and these pictures were taken at 1am (after we got home) so I can definitely vouch for their staying power!

*Please don't scrutinize my eyebrows too much... I'm putting off tinting/plucking until I have time to film a how-to video*

For my original swatch post from this palette check this link

Have you tried any of these shadows yet? I am going to have to go back to get a colour quad so any recommendations are very welcome

Fashionista Shadow Swatches

You may have seen my original post about this range but if not you can find it here
I was waiting to see it in one of my local stores rather than order online. There aren't that many posts online about this brand yet so I had no swatches to go by.. I needed to see for myself. First of all I want to mention the awesome deal that is a quad palette. When I first looked into it I saw that each shadow was £4 and the palette was £5 but what I didn't see was if you bought a full quad you paid only £12!!! Bargain!!!
I was always going to buy 4 and the palette but this was I saved £9! It's practically 5 for 3.
I don't know if this will be the permanent offer but just in case I intend to go back for more over the coming weeks. My first impressions are that much like W7 and MUA the shadows are hit and miss. The metallic/shimmery shades are best as you'd expect, there are some with glitter fall out that aren't so great but I can tell you the few matte shadows there are are pretty good. I didn't immediately need any of the blushers so I stuck to shadows this time but I swatched some and they seemed ok. You never really know til you try them out of course but I wouldn't rule them out in future. As usual I plumped for a neutral selection first. I would love to buy a few palettes and fill them with a range of colours but given that I've just left work I'm not in the ideal financial position to do that right now even at £12 a go.
Clockwise - Nude Glimmer, Bella, Black Out, Berry Brown
L-R Nude Glimmer, Berry Brown, Black Out, Bella

Nude Glimmer and Bella come across as similar I know but Bella is really sheer and packed with fine glitter where are Nude Glimmer is a really dense, highly pigmented formula. Berry Brown is much the same and Black Out is a matte black. As with most brands the matte black is the most difficult shade of the bunch but I thought I'd give it a go, It's not the worst I've tried but it's nothing special. I will do a look with this palette soon.. I'm looking forward to layering Bella over some of my other shadows to give some extra sparkle.

Here's my Fashionista review video...

Have you tried anything from the Fashionista Brand yet?
Everything seemed good value for money size-wise so I will be trying more of it for sure

Fashionista Arrives at Superdrug

You may already have heard about the new Fashionista range that hit Superdrug this week. I'm not sure if it's available in stores yet or just online (nowhere near me has it yet that's for sure). If their site is anything to go by the range will be a comprehensive one but right now all that's launched are the custom palettes. Lucky for me that's what I was most interested in!

The palette itself retails at £5 and there are 49 eyeshadows and 12 blushers which fit in the palette each at just £4. You could create a seasonal blush palette, an eyeshadow quad or mix and match for travel. I LOVE customisable ANYTHING as you know so this is what really has me excited about the Fashionista brand. You may remember I posted about The Saturday's magnetic nail polish? Well that's part of this range too! I'm interested to see everything else they introduce and will be getting my hands on a palette as soon as they arrive in my local store.

For now you can buy it from Superdrug online here

Have you tried anything from this range yet?

*EDIT*

I've since bought a palette..

Outlet Shopping Haul

On this glorious Bank Holiday Friday I took a trip to York Designer Outlet..
I thought I would share with you some of the bargains I picked up.
First up, I've been lusting after a Bobbi Brown Custom Palette for a while but it's expensive stuff.. not at the CCO though :) This 3 pan eyeshadow palette was just £25 and the single eyeshadow and lipgloss quad were around £10 each. It's all interchangeable so as you can see I switched them up to create a more useful combination for my on the go makeup bag!

L-R - Ivory/Sage/Forest

I was soooo excited to find the foundation compact, this is no longer in production and they still had a lot of shade options, next time I go I will definitely pick up a spare for when I run out and I will use it VERY sparingly, only when I'm out and about - such a handy product! I got the shade "porcelain"
This is again discontinued I'm afraid, they do full pan lipsticks.glosses too I think I will pick one up next time.
The shade I got was "coral" I've listed the individual shades in the coral collection below..
clockwise - True Beige/Coral Pink/Ball/Guava
clockwise - True Beige/Coral Pink/Ball/Guava
You can then use the individual cases interchangeably too.. the description stickers are on the bottom of the pop out pans and the palettes have square spaces in the bottom (difficult to describe) so you can switch and change as you like and everything is just as useable as ever!

Here's a look at the underside... you can see here what I mean about the square spaces

Next up is a HUGE bargain from Ted Baker. I've been lusting after the Louis Vuitton Neverfull again but as always I just can't come to terms with £465 for one bag so I've been on the hunt for a really great quality highstreet one.. I have LOVED Ted Baker for some time and last time I was there I picked up a purple patent purse that I have cherished.. when I saw this I knew I had to have it. Purple is of course my favourite colour but it also has the copper coloured shiny hardware and it's real leather so will wear nicely too!
You can expect some oot posts featuring some better pics of this gem very soon! Full price it was £125, it was on sale at £85... I still didn't really want to part with that cash but it was a beautiful bag... there were a couple of tiny scuffs and so Lee bartered the saleman down to £60.. yay! Less than HALF PRICE! Absolute bargain and it will be my summer arm candy for sure :)

I have already made a date will Lee to go back very soon.. maybe next month as I had my eye on these beauties from Kurt Geiger and I think I need them!
I love them in both colours but I think I prefer the white/cream.. what do you think?
I've looked them up on the website since and they are full price stock online £85 but at the outlet they were just £49... must haves I think!

I could spend all day there I really could.. and we kind of did.. Ella and Lee are dozing now and I'm pretty wiped so here I go.. hope you all had a fabulous Good Friday!

Yaby Palettes

I am totally obsessed at the moment with finding a "do-it-all" palette. It's been driving me crazy looking for something that seemed not to exist. I want a palette that holds everything but mascara... is that so hard? I found a few companies that do custom palettes now but I really struggled to find one that I could buy a concealer/foundation to fit. I was sure I'd seen a Bobbi Brown concealer refill but alas... it is not to be found!
(even though I found this picture!!!! - so frustrating!!!)

I was even trawling forums to see if the mac concealers could be depotted to fit in their pro palettes... apparently this is not possible.. argh!

This is what I've been faced with... very very pretty but nothing that fits the bill...

So it appears custom palettes are everywhere but it was a big deal when I discovered...yaby!
They are EXACTLY what I've been looking for... they do every product you could want to fit into perfect little custom palettes... as shown below...

I will absolutely 100% be ordering one of these palettes and will find it difficult not to fill it  up IMMEDIATELY.. they're are SO pretty and really great value... the inserts run from £1.99 - £8.99 so depending on the size of palette you want you could order the whole thing without breaking a sweat ...or your bank balance. The one problem I foresee is that everything is online so I can't swatch.. this will make foundation matching tricky but I will be looking into this over the next couple of days and let you know if I come up with anything. I'v read a few reviews online and all are favourable, most rave about their fabulous customer service so they may even be able to help me!
For those interested here is the link to where you can get yaby palettes and refills..

If any of you have this already please let me know how you've found it to work with.. I am very excited to have found a product that I feel like I've searched for for years.. you can expect a haul and review VERY  soon!!!

xoxo
