I've seen this blogged about and in store soooo many times and I don't know why it's taken me so long to purchase but it's now my new favourite polish. It's a very pale almost grey/lilac colour. Really unique and beautiful. I will be wearing this throughout winter despite it being more of a spring shade. I just love it! Models Own polishes never fail to disappoint for formula and chip resistancy. I would definitely recommend you go out and get this if you haven't got it already.

Outfit Month #27
I had another H&M delivery yesterday... Yes it's a problem!
I had ordered this orange cardigan/shrug for the bargain price of £3.99 as well as this satchel. I'd been eyeing up the bag since I saw it a month or so ago and in that time it's been in and out of my basket too many times to count but what settled my purchase was seeing it on MakupSavvy's blog. Online I just couldn't tell how good the quality would be, Faux leather has the potential to be really terrible and although it was just £15 I didn't want to risk it. Once I saw it "in person" on her blog post however it had to be mine. You can buy it in brown too but I would say the red looks less like it's trying to be leather.. does that make sense? Another mention, last night I put on a top coat of glitter to my Models Own Beth's Blue nails. I used Coronation by OPI which I got in my Glossybox a couple of months ago. I must say OPI is expensive but I really love that glitter.. I have the trial size but I'm sorely tempted to buy the big one when I run out. It gives a really cool finish to my favourite blue polish.

Leopard Print - Nailed!
I am totally loving the leopard print nails trend that hit a while ago and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. I keep seeing it on posts from other bloggers I follow and every time I think I must try that for myself.. well since I bought the Models Own Nail Art Pen I had no excuse not to give it a go so... here is my first attempt.
I first applied 2True Fast Dry Nail Colour in Shade 9
Once dry I blobbed on some Soiree from MAC
Then I just kind of doodled around it in a leopard print fashion.. it's not my neatest work but that's the beauty of this.. it doesn't really have to be! I will definitely be trying this out with some other colours but If you've tried this yourself I'd love to see your versions so leave me a link in the comments or email me a picture. Having scoured Google Images for inspiration prior to doing it myself I've seen so many different versions, I love to see the different interpretations of a trend. So many new and creative ways to keep it fresh.

Models Own Nail Art Pen
I have wanted this for the longest time but never bought it. I don't know whether I thought I wouldn't use it or it was just a bit more than I wanted to spend (£6, can be bought online here) but I've just never taken the plunge and made the purchase. I kept seeing all these cool posts on the nail art of other bloggers and I just couldn't resist any longer so here it is, it's finally mine and I love it!
The only available colour right now is black but I hear there is a white on the horizon so it's only a matter of time 'til colours are introduced. After I bought this I also saw an Andrea Fullton Version in Superdrug that was slightly cheaper I believe and had silver and pink versions so I may have to try those next.
Anyway... it has two applicators , one when you unscrew the lid as you would a conventional polish is a very fine "striping" brush.. see below
The other when you pop off the cap on the lid is a pen. You squeeze the polish through the tiny nib, it's a genius little device really that allows you these two effects from one relatively inexpensive product.
It's easy to control and you could either achieve some really detailed patterns or a simple dotted effect with a lot less effort than you'd think.
As you can see from my random doodle... I think the pen end will be my favoured applicator, the striper is all well and good but there's a lot more room for error with smudging and the like.
Are you into Nail Art?
Any great pens you'd recommend?

Slow Comfortable Sunday
*what I'm wearing*
Top - H&M
Jeans - Next Maternity
Cardigan - Next (last season)
Necklace - H&M
Stacker rings - Pandora
Watch - DKNY
Gold Bracelet - Vintage
Shoes - Havaianas
Love love LOVE this cardigan! It met mixed feelings at Sunday lunch with my Mum telling me it was a 70s reject and my Dad telling me he made a rug similar to it at school (hmm) but I just can't get enough!
It is so comfortable, the colour is me and it would be a fab cover up to a slinky dress on a cold night out. Can't wait to try it our with different outfits.
I have a night out this week and am yet to find something to wear.. with my growing bulge it's a tough in-between stage in my pregnancy for clothes but I'm trying to have fun with it.

Models Own - Peach Sherbet
Todays nails are wearing Models Own "Peach Sherbet"
I am absolutely loving their pastel shades right now...
Apologies for the terrible application and dry cuticles in shot but my hands are suffering right now.. I am treating them to some fabulous moisturisers and balms so hopefully I'll see improvement soon.
What are you wearing?

Models Own - Beth's Blue
Today I will mostly be wearing Beth's Blue from ModelsOwn..

It's a gorgeous cornflower, very wearable blue! It's almost lavender. I've been favouring this Sally Hansen topcoat lately since I heard Seche Vite is dangerous :o
It's good so far, tricky to apply but worth it! Really chip resistant!

What are you wearing on your nails right now?
Models Own Haul
Just a quick post to preview some shades you can expect to see popping up as NOTDs soon!
NOTE : Apologies for the terrible photo quality... still waiting to get my Nikon back up and running!

I only ordered these lovelies on Monday night so for them to arrive on Wednesday morning - I'm impressed! Here's a run down of the colours..
L-R
Beths Blue, Buff Pink, Peache Sherbet, Orange Sorbet, Pink Punch, Purple Poppy, Betty Blue, Top Turquoise.
What's your favourite Models Own shade?

Models Own - Fuzzy Peach
This weeks models own shade is fuzzy peach...
Gotta say, I'm a little disappointed.. The shade looks kind of a bright pastel in the bottle but on my nails it neon.. Thats no issue, its still nice but it's not quite the colour I wanted.. Mmmm...
And next weeks shade shall be...?

I'm Mikhila and I'm a SHOPAHOLIC!
Well..
I'm trying to save some money and I've come up with a little idea!
I am a shopaholic! I've tried to give up shopping cold-turkey before in order to save up for something but I undoubtedly fail after day 2/3 (or even 1 in some abismal cases) and it's all over before it ever began.
I can't save money ... end of! I can, however, give someone else money to save FOR me. That would work! We've decided to go to NYC for my birthday again in february - will also get married while we're there providing all goes according to plan.. anywho.. We both agreed not to go crazy on Xmas pressies and my mum and I have already agreed a family budget of £20 per person so This year Xmas will be a budget one all round. In the interest of saving money for our trip I will be trying to scale back my spending, I have never had much luck with this in the past BUT this time I have a plan!
I've wanted to try Models Own nail polishes for a while and have lost count of the amount of times I have filled up my virtual shipping cart with my wishlist online but I've never actually bought any yet.
They're £5 each from Boots which I always thought was a little much for a drugstore brand but I hear such great things I really want to test them out, plus they are fairly sizeable bottles so it's all relative!
It's simply genius. And the best thing is my boyfriend LOVES nail polish.. He paints my toes for me - he pretty much gives me a weekly pedicure - I know, I'm spoiled! - He loves perousing the different colours with me.. often comparing them to the various sports cars that come in similar iconic shades of paint and get's excited about glitters and duo chromes. So it can even double up as a couples bonding activity :p
So...I'm typing this very late night on Thursday... you know what that means!!
My first MO Friday is just one sleep away!
I know it can't just be me that craves that rush from the cash register and I KNOW we all need to be tightening our belts a little coming up to Xmas so I want to bring some of you guys along with me..
Leave your comments below and let me know what you think or even better - that you're going to join me on my money saving mission. As I call this first Shopaholics Anonymous meeting to a close I ask you to stand up, admit you have a problem and... go and buy a load of nail polish ;)

Much the same as when someone goes on a diet.. if you deprive yourself of all treats you will fail.. everything in moderation. I like my Friday night shopping fix,I have a little something to look forward to all week, a little incentive that just keeps me going. Now I can't go out and spend £40+ on whatever beauty product(s) I may have been coveting since Tuesday but I CAN go out and get my spending buzz and I can do it without breaking the bank.
They're £5 each from Boots which I always thought was a little much for a drugstore brand but I hear such great things I really want to test them out, plus they are fairly sizeable bottles so it's all relative!
I see these polishes as a little indulgent, more than perhaps I would normally spend on a nail polish but less than I'd spend on an average trip to boots... even if I bought two a week I'd still be saving a small fortune... So that's my plan. You may not think much of it now but when I'm tweeting you from the Big Apple you'll be laughing at me from the other side of the Atlantic let alone your face.
Every week I will purchase (or two if I'm feeling crazy) Models Own nail polish until February and Every week I will wear that (or those) shade(s) and review them on this blog. I will be building my collection, giving you all fabulous reviews, getting my shopping fix and actually saving money!
