Deck The Halls

I can't wait to decorate for Christmas. Last year we had a purple theme because I painted the accent walls either side of our chimney breast in our living room. This year I really want to go back to the traditional Red and Gold for Milo's first Christmas. That means I need to repaint the accent walls *sigh*. I do have a lot of red/gold decorations already from previous years but I will need to buy some more... obviously! My house will be like walking into a festive movie set.. I will be home to do it up and most importantly.. to appreciate the effort! In preparation here are the most inspirational pictures I've found..

How will you be decorating this year?

  1. I love when people have themed decorations, however at my house it is always a mash of all the decorations we have collected over the years! Although that is nice aswell, makes our Decorations feel more homely haha.

Surely people aren't decorating already? Then I'll have to start going Christmas shopping! haha

  3. Ahhh lovely post :) I love decorating the house at Christmas!

Every year I make huge 3D snowflakes and hang them from the ceiling in the dinig room and in my front room I cellotape mirror ball baubles next to the ceiling downlights so it creates a prism all over the ceiling... sooo pretty! This year colour wise I'm thinking white and gold :)

  4. @allie
my grandparents always had a real tree with whatever colour decorations they had. They were all the oldest glass and handmade things.. I have a soft spot for mixed colours!

I think I might just paint mine the same colour as the other walls eventually.. it's just easier

wow! that's some serious effort. I'm coming round to cream/pale gold theme.. that way I can keep my plum walls and cushions etc and it will still feel traditionally christmassy. I have some lovely cream/white baubles from last year I can use... can't wait to shop for more already :p
