My Big Distraction

I know you all know but I had a baby recently. I haven't posted any pictures of him here and thought I would for those who haven't seen him yet. I've already blogged and vlogged about him here and here so you can check that out if you're interested. He was born on 15/11/11 and he we named him Milo. He is 100% of the reason my blog posts have been lacking in frequency and perhaps lower in quality lately...you can imagine it's hard to get anything done with a cute baby around to play with. He is the best behaved boy, though, so I really have no excuse for shirking my blogging responsibilities. He sleeps well and generally doesn't like to bother anyone.

I have managed to film a few non-baby related videos for my beauty YouTube channel since Milo was born but here are his YT debuts...

Thank you to everyone that has sent kind messages since his birth. I am doing much better and he is perfect, 2 weeks old tomorrow and life is just about returning to somewhere near normal.

Usual beauty blogging will resume shortly!

I'm Having a Baby..

Unless this is the first post of mine you've ever read you're probably already aware I am due to give birth soon. The beauty of an elective C-Section is that I have been able to plan for my absence. I've scheduled about a weeks worth of posts to keep you occupied, some of which are from some lovely guest bloggers and some are my own. Either way I wanted to make you aware that the posts that are mine are not my usual typed-on-the-day posts so they will not reflect my post-baby mood (if you're with me)

Again..  I'd expect you'd already know this but I have a separate baby blog which chronicles everything from our struggles to conceive the little one all the way up to his imminent arrival and I will continue to blog there about his progress and all Mummy related topics I deem unsuitable for my beauty blog.
All being well I will be posting his first baby picture there tomorrow so check back to see it or better still go and follow/subscribe to make sure you don't miss it!

I love blogging, it's my addiction so I will not be gone for long but while I'm not blogging here and while I'm not uploading my regular videos to missbudgetbeauty on YouTube I will be blogging at missbudgetbaby and uploading hospital and new baby vlogs to mekj1986 on YouTube (my second channel) So if you do miss me terribly you will find me there.

For now I'll leave you with my Baby Break video. I'd like to thank everyone who's wished us luck, the comments on that video were overwhelming. I appreciate every single one and in my nervous moments they've really helped keep me calm.

Baby Blues

When I fell pregnant with Ella I was scared but I was excited.
She wasn't planned but I only ever had one solid ambition and that was to have a child.
When I imagined my future children I will admit I had visions of a beautiful wedding that preceeded the pregnancy but we can't have everything! My logic was that if I decided not to have this child I may be punished later in life with infertility. Now that I am with a new partner and trying for a second child that logic really resonates.
I am into my 3rd month of trying and I'm growing increasingly concerned that it may not happen for me a second time. I've told myself (and my partner) that Ella is enough, I don't NEED a second.. worst comes to worst we will adopt. I mean, that's the same right?

Only now it's really hitting me... If this doesn't happen for me that's a huge thing I have to come to terms with, I will never have that magical experience I dreamt of...a pregnancy with a man who loved me and is as excited about the baby as I am. My fiance has no children of his own and I would love nothing more than to give him a child of his own, a child we can share, I feel like it would cement our little family and I've never wanted Ella to be an only child.

Before we started trying I was planning multiple children... now I would be happy with just one more... JUST ONE... is it that much to ask?
I watched a video this evening where a woman found out she was pregnant, she was nervous and it was unplanned but I was so overwhelmingly happy for her. How could anyone be upset to have a baby? It's what I want now more than anything. After watching I was compelled to take a test.. I am not due for 2 more days and have no symptoms so the chances I am pregnant are very slim, this being said I convinced myself I saw a second line... a VERY VERY VERY faint (some would say invisible) line! If you want something bad enough can you will it to happen?
In two days time I may know either way but if it is a negative I just can't give up hope, not yet!
Until I AM pregnant I will keep you all updated on how I'm going and what different things I am trying but I hope for my sanity it's not much longer and more than anything that it's not impossible.

Wish Me Luck

xoxo
