New Closet Organisation

This is a follow up to my "cleaning out my closet" post so for before pictures check that out first here.
I was pretty shocked at the amount of jeans I own.. this is AFTER I cleared out everything old and ill-fitting and it's still a pretty large section of my wardrobe dedicate to denim. Shamefully I even discovered  own two identical pairs of grey skinnies from Primarni.. why??

This is my "current" wardrobe.
I like to keep everything I'm wearing right now in my main space and use the other closets I have to store my lesser worn or seasonal clothes. I was using one wardrobe soley for evening wear but it really limits how often things are worn. I have now gone through and picked out my favourite pieces of the moment and put them all in my main space so I will see them more often and they're more likely to get an outing. Who says evening wear can't be worn during the day? Winter is the perfect time to mix it up. You can wear your dresses with thick tights and boots and casual-up an otherwise formal outfit.

My tops are organised by type, although they would look prettier arranged by colour I know. They go from jackets and blazers on the left through vests, tshirts, long sleeves and jumpers.

I've hung my favourite belts over a hanger for easy access. They previously lived in another closet in our then spare room (now nursery) but now I have a waist again it's nice to have them within reach.
I have my vanity set up in my bedroom now but I've avoided wires trailing all over by keeping my hair styling in the wardrobe where I'm lucky enough to have built-in plug sockets.
I have two large plastic boxes filled with nightwear and lingerie. I have very little drawer space so this was the best option to store the things I really don't want to hang. They're designed to go under the bed but unfortunately they don't fit under mine. They are stackable though and the lids will click shut even if they're over-filled. A must-have for anyone with limited space and too many clothes.

So that's my new closet. If you're interested I will do a post on how to condense what you have and decide what to keep/what needs to go. It's tough but sometimes it needs to be done

Now I'm going to leave you with some of my favourite shoes...

  1. I love organised wardrobes, they look so pretty. However whenever I sort my wardrobes and drawers out, it usually lasts about a week, and then its back to the beginning again! I don't know what I'm doing wrong :P hahaha

  3. I'm so impressed by people with so many clothes and the patience to organise it all. My method of organisation is just to throw out or give away the stuff I don't use often enough... But I frequently think "where's that thing I need" only to realise I got rid of it. Fail...
