How would YOU spend £500?

So... some or all of you will know what I've been saving my money for lately.
It's been the reason I've had no hauls and no new beauty products to share here with you lately (apologies)
Anywho... so I have my money all saved and this week Lee and I are off work so the plan was to .... SHOP! My problem is this... can I really spend all that money on one item?
Here's what I've been saving for...
There are 3 different prints and 3 different sizes... I'm undecided on print but I think the size will be the MM which is Medium... mostly because the largest seems comically big for an everyday bag but also because when Lee and I get maried my initials will be MM!
The size I want costs £465.. Other than my computer and my car I have never spent even close to that kind of money on one item and I'm nervous to say the least.
I may never have this chunk of cash saved again specifically for this so I feel like I'll regret not buying it if I spend the cash elsewhere but would I rather regret not buying this one thing or buy it and regret spending all that money on something that just doesn't live up to my expectations? I don't go around flashing the cash and although I've discovered I spend an obscene amount of money on makeup etc but it's different spending £50 here and there on a beauty hall splurge and spending this huge amount on ONE THING!!! ugh! Champagne problems, right?
I was looking at what else I could get for the £500 I have saved...

When you look at it like that I'm a bit... eek!
So...I'm asking you.. if you have £500 to spend.. what would you spend it on?

What are YOU saving for?

Those of you that follow my blog already may already know what I'm saving for but if you don't...
it's the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM... I'm not decided on a colour yet but I want it SO bad!
I have never saved for anything in my entire life but with my maternity leave coming up I decided while I still had a little disposable income to save I would try my best. if I have cash in my purse I HAVE to spend it, if I have money in the bank I HAVE to spend it... this is the curse of the "shopaholic".. I discovered a solution!
once or twice a week I make a trip to the cash machine and withdraw something. Even if it's £10.. it's SOMETHING! I take it home and put it in a box.. this way it's not available in my account to make online impulse purchases (my biggest spending downfall) and I don't have it when (if) I'm Im out shopping to spend.
So far I have to say I'm pretty appauled at the money I am taking out and not even missing.. I never have like a ton of cash available to spend so it's showing me how much I spend on crap without even knowing it.
It could be £5 a day on lunch... it could be £30 on a bunch of new makeup I will swatch once and never use again.. either way it's a lot of money I can't really account for and for the first time in my life it feels really good to be saving. I know that when I do get that bag it will mean so much more having saved for it myself.. If I had it right now, yes it would be special but I don't think I'd appreciate it the same way.

So... I want to know all of your saving tips and what YOU are saving for right now!
I have 2 other BIG purchases on my wishlist I am DYING for which if this little savings scheme works out I might go for next, a DSLR camera and an iMac.. (these will have to wait)

Still Obsessing...

Back in January I told you all I was obsessing over this bag

I am unhappy to tell you that my desire hasn't grown stale.. if anything I want it MORE!
I know that I want the medium size, the MM. I've read and watched so many reviews and "what's in my bag"'s to know it's the most practical size and it's especially perfect for me as my initials when I get married will be... MM! Could it be more meant to be? You don't need to answer that.
I love love love love love love love this bag and I seriously need it. It is so expensive , I have never spent so much on anything that wasn't electrical but I can't control my urge to go out and get it! For me this is now whim purchase. I don't have a spare £465 lying around to be so extravagant so if I really want it I will have to save which I am just no good at but when I look at the money I spend on rubbish every month it all adds up and if I seriously saved it might not take me that long and I would have an item I would cherish forever..
So... It's decided! I am not buying ANYTHING until I either have this bag in my hand or I give up on the dream. I love it, I want it, I need it... I will have it!
Have any of you got one? Is it as amazing as I imagine?
I think I'm going to get it in the brown as above, not the azure that I love (too light in colour and impractical for the short british summer season) and not the original LV print (look's a little cheap/tacky now there are so many fakes I think) so this is the most wearable and still understated print of them all.
It will be mine!

What are you saving for right now?

Obsession of the day 23/01/2011

Okay so I have been obsessing over this since I saw it on AndreasChoice Vegas haul but today it has reached a climax... I NEED this bag.

For those who don't know this is the Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Canvas Neverfull

It is SO beautiful. It would be the most expensive bag I've ever purchased by a long way.. I have never spent more than £60 on a bag and I've never seen a designer piece that has called out to me in such a way as this one. It's not ridiculously unaffordable, prices start at £420 for the smallest size, all the way up to £470 for the largest. The model I have my sights on is the medium MM size which retails at £445. Don't get me wrong I am not about to drop £445 without a moments thought.. I would really miss that money if I parted with it! Can I really justify spending that amount of money on a bag I can probably only get good use out of in the summer and would be living in fear of getting something on it?

I have another option of course which is the Damier Ebene.. same prices but it looks like this...
This would be a lot more wearable and definitely more practical for weathering dirt etc but at the end of the day I just don't love it like I do the Azur!
Now my birthday is coming up and I could always ask for it as a part present (I could offer to put towards) making it less of an extravagance and more affordable but then would it be the same? Is it as empowering to part pay for the bag of your dreams? And if I do get it will it live up to my lofty expectations?

So many questions surround the possible purchase of the bag.
I will, as always keep you posted but I am doing my birthday shopping this Friday after what will be a potentially tough week at work so I might feel like I've earned it ;)
And wouldn't it just look amazing in my OOTD posts?

Who am I kidding? I will have to have this bag at some point but it's a lot to fork out in one hit. What do you guys think? I know LV can be a little love/hate, I myself dislike the original LV print intensely and I know that no matter what people will think the bag is a fake.. so... is it worth it?

xoxo
