THE Zara Bag

You have seen this everywhere, I know you have but rather than hype it up as soon as I got it I thought I'd do kind of a mini review. There are lots of 'must-haves I've purchased because the blogging community 'made me', some have been absolute diamonds but most haven't. This I'm afraid falls in to the latter category.

In theory it's perfect, it's a basic, black (other colours available) everyday bag that's not too structured and has little touches of hardware to give it some style while allowing to remain fairly plain - ha! I'm a poet! Anyway.. it should have been the bag I've been searching high and low for and finding it for just £19.99 was the icing on the cake but unfortunately it's just.. not good.

My main problem is the lack of structure. Unless it's full it just folds in to itself and if it is full the hard, thin strap is uncomfortable. Also if it's full it's difficult to close but if you don't close it again the structure of the bag means if just flops all over the place. I have been looking for a basic black bag for the longest time I really thought I'd found it but alas, the search continues. This was one of those impulse purchases that didn't pan out and it was rather disappointing. Bloggers the UK wide are raving about this thing and although I, too thought it was great at first now I've had it out of the open road it just doesn't hold up to my lofty expectations. I don't think it's a case of you get what you pay for either, if this was handcrafted in Italian leather it still wouldn't work for me but a handbag is a personal purchase, it's a matter of lifestyle I guess.

If you're still interested in the bag you can purchase it here

And if you want to see what's inside my bag you can watch this...

  1. That's disappointing. The strap does look VERY painful. I can't imagine that being weighed down on my shoulder. Ouch. I know the pain of searching for the perfect bag. Have you tried snooping through TK Max every now and then? I've bought a couple of really great bags from there for a good (low) price. I just replaced a bag from there which I'd been using daily for two years with another one.

  3. Im glad it's not just me, loved the look of it, went to go and get it in store, but due to the way it did up I didn't think it would be very safe when travelling on public transport in london. The search continues.

I ended up buying the Bucket Bag and I'm glad after seeing this post. I also heard the die rubs off after a while of using it everyday.. so I'm going to see how the one I bought pans out!
    Thanks for the post x

  5. I bought it in red about two weeks ago and I can see already that the strap is going to snap soon. It's annoying because I love the style and colour but I don't even carry a lot/heavy items in it

  7. I bought the £80 bucket bag and was equally disappointed. It's beautiful when you buy it but loses its structure after some use and started to peel - yuk. It looks really cheap already!xx
