Bikini Bootcamp - Weigh In #4

Is this weigh in 4? Is that right? Time has FLOWN!
with just two weeks to go 'til our holiday I have a new wave of motivation. This week I did as I pleased, ate what I wanted, didn't shred once (shameful) but I continued the daily walks and twice weekly Zumba. I'm a day late in posting this as I've gotten out of the habit of daily weighing and totally forgot to do it yesterday morning so today when I did step on the scales I was pleasantly surprised! 2 and a half lb loss without killing myself for it is awesome!

I'm convinced that I was making it harder for myself enforcing 3 meals a day. I'm what you might call a 'grazer' by nature and an hour after eating I'm often looking for a snack. I was making myself have breakfast when I can generally go til 12 before having to eat something. I was quite possibly eating more calories than some pre-bikini bootcamp days because I was focusing on these 3 meals.

Let me tell you what I ate yesterday..

1 caramel macchiato from Starbucks
2 fried eggs and 2 rashers of bacon with a slice of brown toast
1 cup of black tea
half a bag of toffee popcorn
1 can of diet coke
2 turkey rashers with 2 eggs scrambled

It was just what I wanted plus I was busy and they were the 'meals' I fit in to my day. I left my hair appointment (post on new hair to follow of course) and would have given anything for a pizza from the takeaway next door but given that Zumba was shortly after I decided to wait until after class. I fully intended to pick one up on the way home but after exercising your butt off for an hour your pizza craving isn't quite so strong. I could have had it.. but I didn't want it anymore.

Exercise is absolutely key for me! If I feel myself 'needing' something 'bad' I go for a walk and when I get back I generally want something a bit better for me. It's like my body is saying, why waste the work you just did by eating a bar of chocolate?

Anyway I'm considering starting the shred again today and keeping it up for the last 2 weeks in the hope it will tone me up a little better than walking alone. My chubby arms are driving me crazy. But if I want to exercise for 20mins then sit down with a bag of Butterkist, Gosh Darn It I'm gonna!

Until Next Week....

  2. Well done on the 2 lb loss. I still have half a stone to go until I am pre-baby weight of 9 stone 7. Like you I seem to lose more weight when I dont focus so much on the diet, the human body is so strange! I love exercise too, it makes me feel good, if I don't get to work out I feel so crappy.
Keep up the great work :-)

    1. I think after a baby your body will lose the weight in its own time. I'm exercising to help but I'm not calorie counting anymore

  3. Hi khila, great post. I eat more grazily than meal.-y? But sometimes that can mean what you do end up doing if times short is eating whatecers available so healthy snacking for me is important. Ive lost over a stone and would love to lose at least half a stone more but im not gonna kill myself for it. As you say excersise is importantbut make sure you are getting at least ~1200 cals a day i only say this cos its SO frustrating losing weight only to put it back on like lightening afer one or two days eating what you like. Your doing great and for your height your at an ideal weight so if you keep healthy eating you will maintain x

    1. I'd like to be 9st max. I'm still a little heavy for my height but I will find my natural balance I'm sure x

  4. These posts are inspiring me to look summer ready! I'm hoping to attempt in changing my diet, slowly & use Zumba as a at home exercise. I have a set of scales at home that I rarely use - can't face the results! Once I've started my new regime, how often would you say is acceptable to weigh yourself & record the results?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

  5. The caramel macchiato from Starbucks is high in calories and highhh in sugar. Go for the skinny caramel macchiato instead :)
