BB Cream, 6 months on...

So you know how much I raved about the Garnier BB cream when it first launched last summer. That post (here) was one of my all time most popular as was the corresponding video on my YouTube channel. I thought it was about time I did a follow up. Often I will review a product after a week or two of loving it and then the novelty wears off and I go back to using something I had before, not with this. I have used it almost every day since I got it and the only time I've turned to foundation is for nights out when I want a little more longevity. I will say this, it has lasted a very long time! I bought it 6 months ago and am only just about to replace it now, that was one thing I was wrong about, he tube seemed so small I couldn't see it lasting more than 6 weeks. I don't think it has done anything miraculous on a skincare level but it doubles as a moisturiser and it definitely hasn't made my skin worse. I consider it to be no more than a cosmetic product which some object to as original Korean BB creams are supposed to have magical powers if the comments on my video review are to be believed. The real skin benefits to using this is how much lighter than foundation it is, your skin can breathe. Since I converted to tinted moisturisers (a couple of months before I got this) my skin has never been clearer, it could still do with being brighter and less tired looking but blemishes are few and far between. It does what I need it to do and that's all I want. Don't hold your expectations too high, for you it could be the worst BB cream but the best tinted moisturiser you've ever used!!!

I don't just want to re-hash my original post so I'll leave it there. There are so few new products that manage to work their way in to my permanent routine, I can't recommend this highly enough! My only bugbear is the shade range. During winter even the light shade is a touch warm for my pale skin, for that reason I'm considering trying the new Loreal Nude Magique BB Cream which adapts to your skin tone (like Vita-Zing) but that doesn't launch until March. I'm surprised I've not branched out and tried other versions on the market already but I've been so happy with this one I haven't even been tempted. There's a new Maybelline foundation launch soon (post to come) which I worry may lure me back to the dark side but I know I will come back to my beloved Miracle Skin Protector!

  1. I bought the Garnier BB Cream based on the review I read on your site a while ago and whilst I really like the consistency and shade it leaves me feeling and looking uber greasy about an hour after applying it. This could be down to my skin care routine moreso than the actual product itself so I'm still persevering with it.

  3. I was going to buy this last week but Ive used some of their other products (face wash, gradual face tanner.. I forget the actual name of it atm!!) and theyve always broke me out :(

Re the dullness, maybe your Mia will fix that in time? I have the Plus and it works a little but I think my skin is just dull by nature! I have Dead Sea Spa Super Night cream and that brightens a little, but the only thing that has ever brightened my skin A LOT was Ren Omega 5 overnight serum! LOVE that stuff. I got it in a sample (Email them, they might send you some) and I fell in love.. Now Im saving up for the full sized bottle :) xx

  4. Before i bought the BB cream,i checked out your youtube video. I wasn´t disappointed. I really love this BB cream. The only thing that bothers me, is the shade. It could be a bit lighter. Maybe one day there will be a lighter shade.
    Greetings from Germany.
